WELCOME!

Welcome to the website of the Moiliili Japanese Cemetery.

We started this website with a catalog of all the family monuments in the cemetery,

more than 2000 gravesites.

See the navigation bar to access data on your family monument.

We are a group of dedicated volunteers who care deeply about our historical cemetery.

We are giving it the first facelift in its 105 years.

We received an Awesome Foundation Grant last August 2012

and have built a beautiful bluestone wall along the Kuilei frontage,

about 556 feet long.

We have improved the main entrance

and have created a smaller pedestrian entrance at the Ewa end.

We are one hundred volunteers strong,

who have worked on site every Saturday and Sunday and holiday,

rain or shine for a year.

Now we are maintaining the improved look of the cemetery and tend to the growing trees.

We have planted more than a dozen donated plumeria trees and over 50 manila palms.

There is a lot of color in our many desert roses, mao (Hawaiian cotton), and ilima plants.

We are creating shady gardens, seating areas, a new water supply with washing stones and more faucets.

The plaque at the gateway will be installed soon.

Thanks to our over two hundred donors,

who have and continue to provide the funds for purchasing materials for the upgrades.

We are applying for placement on the National and State Register of Historic Places.
